Amelia is a 2023 IFMA Education Foundation scholarship recipient. She attends the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and is studying Hospitality Management.  


In Amelia's own words:  

This scholarship will assist considerably with my college expenses and will have a significant impact on my experience. I currently pay for my own expenses and this will allow me to dedicate more time towards my academic career and schoolwork.

I am studying Hospitality Management and minoring in Leadership studies. I also spend time as a course assistant for a Food Science & Human Nutrition lab titled Principles of Food Preparation (FSHN 232) as well as working in the kitchen and for events with Michael’s Catering in Champaign.

Not only do these responsibilities support me financially, they also provide me with personal fulfillment because I feel as if I am working towards finding my place within the foodservice industry. This scholarship is an indication to me that my contributions and commitment have been recognized. Thank you.
